E-Waste Management in Schools Built Around Convenience

CJD’s CART program gives school districts a structured, ongoing approach to e-waste management in schools that requires almost no lift from your team. Computer recycling for schools no longer means coordinating a one-time haul or clearing out storage rooms on your own. Containers come to you, fill up on their own schedule, and get swapped out every one to three months without anyone on your staff having to manage the process.

  • The CART Program: Containers That Come to You

We provide free recycling containers designed to roll through standard doorways and fit in a corner or closet. Each cart holds up to 500 lbs. When it’s full, we swap it out for an empty one on a fixed route every one to three months, so your building never misses a pickup.

  • School Computer Recycling That Qualifies for Free Pickup

Schools with recurring e-waste volume qualify for free pickup. No per-load fees, no minimum quantities per trip, and no contracts. The more consistent your volume, the smoother the program runs.

Yes. Schools that generate regular e-waste volume qualify for free containers and free pickup. There are no per-trip fees and no contracts. We build each program around what makes sense for your district’s volume and location.

Containers can be deployed within a week of confirming your program. Once your cart is in place, we put your building on a fixed route and swap the full cart for an empty one every one to three months. We run routes throughout Metro St. Louis and Metro East, so most districts fall well within our service area.

No. Our team handles sorting on arrival. If you want to separate items by type ahead of time, that can speed up the process, but it’s not required. We work around what your maintenance or IT team has time for.

All data-bearing devices are handled under our R2v3-certified process. Devices are assessed on arrival and data is either wiped or the device is physically destroyed based on its condition. Districts that need documentation can request full records through our device destruction and disposal program.

Yes. We work with districts to recycle computers for schools across multiple buildings, placing containers in each facility and picking them up on a coordinated schedule. For large or one-time cleanouts across multiple locations, our e-waste pickup service handles those as well.
